George Walter Braden passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2024 in Apple Valley, California, at the age of 88. He was born September 1st,1936 and grew up in Pasadena. He was a fourth generation Californian. He attended Pasadena High School, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in South Korea. He attended L.A. City College and California State University at Los Angeles, graduating in 1963. He later obtained an M.B.A. and a law degree.
Professionally, he trained hospital nurses to use medical supplies for Travenol Laboratories and then distributed veterinary medical supplies and equipment for Bristol Myers.
He became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1961 and served faithfully as a Teacher, Scoutmaster, Ward Clerk, Bishop’s counselor, and Bishop.
George and Trina were married in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple for time and eternity on July 3rd 1964. He was a loving husband and father to three adopted children: Barbara, Beverly and Rima; grandfather to four: Shea, Dilan, Ashley and Zachary Christensen; and great-grandfather to five: Oakley, Nixon, and Sloane Christensen, and Rhett and Remi Ashby.
He was noted for his wisdom and his keen sense of humor. He loved USC, as two of his mother’s relatives were founders. He was very charitable to his family and friends. He sponsored outdoor band concerts in England each year for seniors. He loved going to the Rose Parade each year as well as the Rose Bowl games.
He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
