Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather & friend, slipped his earthly bonds on October 27,2023 surrounded by his loving family.
David was born in Cottage Grove Oregon, on July 31,1942 to Helen & Cody Morris, he spent his early years in Nebraska and later moved to California with his family. He met his beautiful wife to be, Pauleen in 1961 and they married June 30,1962. They raised their family in Bloomington, Rialto before finally relocating to the high desert in 1991 where he lived until his passing. He loved everything about the desert, he found it beautiful, barren, and especially loved the night sky.
He spent years as a cement contractor, brick mason. He did beautiful, detailed work. His mind was brilliant, if you could dream it he could build it. His attention to detail was something that few could match. Ask anyone who ever worked with him or for him he was a “BEAST” the most hard working, strongest man. He never put off for tomorrow what he could do today. He was often described as the first to arrive at a job and the last to leave. Other words we have heard recently were UNSTOPPABLE, HARDWORKING, ALWAYS IN CONTROL, GENIUS. He worked from sun up to sundown.
As a family man he was the most gentle, husband and father, and the most gentle giant of a grandfather. Never raising a hand or his voice to his wife or children. He was the epitome of what a man should be, always opened doors for his wife, never reacting no matter how crazy she could be. As kids our dad never spanked us, always taught us through example. We never seen him mad, even when he would call us to his work truck after work to ask “which one of you took my margin trowel out of my bucket” He would again explain that it was an important tool and not having it made his day a little harder. Loving our mother was the example of the kind of love we could only dream of finding. Even after her passing he would never check the widowed box on any form. He was married until the end of time. Just like his tattoo said. Words cannot adequately describe who this man was. It is almost impossible to try and paraphrase 81 years of his life into a few paragraphs. Here is a simple list of words: loving, caring, slow to anger, thoughtful, kind, hardworking, smart, inventive, intelligent, devoted, strong, resilient, moral, handsome, beautiful, gentle, beast, strong silent type, man of few words.
