Arthur James Laing

Arthur James Laing, also known as Art, peacefully departed from this world on September 4, 2023, at the age of 96 in Victorville, California. Born on February 18, 1927, in the town of Meridale, New York, Art's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Following his Army service in postwar Japan, Art went home to New York and began his lifelong career as a truck driver. For over 50 years, he covered the open roads based in Denver, LA, and Barstow. During that time he dedicated many of his free hours to public service in the Masonic organizations. Art was preceded in death by his son, Art Jr, and his wife of 71 years, May.

In honor of Art's remarkable journey, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the chapel of Victor Valley Memorial Park in Victorville, California. The service will commence at 11 AM, allowing loved ones and friends to gather and pay their final respects to this beloved soul. Following the service, a reception will be hosted at First Assembly of God Church, situated on Hesperia Road in Hesperia, California.

Art's memory will forever endure in the hearts of his cherished family and friends. May his spirit find eternal peace and solace in the realms beyond, as he embarks on his heavenly voyage.
