Stephen was an avid fisherman and hunter. Galveston Bay was his favorite place to fish. He placed 2nd in Trout 2 years ago at the Poco Bueno Tournament in Pt. O’Connor and placed 1st place with his deer in the Muy Grande. Stephen and his wife developed a fishing and hunting product and were big supporters of Warrior’s weekend and would take many warriors out fishing to use their new product. They would also prepare over 4500 wrapped jalapenos for the warriors to enjoy.
Stephen didn’t like to be in the spotlight but loved to visit and check in on his friends. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. He would always be first in line to help out a friend in need. Stephen’s beloved dog, Trump, was always by his side and was a great companion.
Stephen adored his children and loved to spend time with them. Stephen grew up in Alvin and worked as a plant operator until he moved to Victoria to be with his wife, Laura, who he adored. Stephen accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized December 24, 2016 and always had his Bible with him and loved to quote scriptures.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Laura Lynn Mills; mother, Alice Bowman (Floyd Bowman) of Rusk, TX , sons, Reese Mills of Liverpool, TX, Walker and Wiley Mills of Pearland; step-son, Weston Hall (Alli) of Victoria, step-daughter, Meghan Jones (Kacey) of Victoria; niece, Samantha Wilhoite; nephew, Colton Corl and grandchildren, Logan and Brayden Jones.
