Robert is survived by his wife of 53 Years, Sally Miklos Meyer; daughters, Tara Meyer of Houston, Gail Meyer Dentler (Stephen) of Victoria; son, Robert W. Meyer Jr., of Corpus Christi; sister, Billie Nell Stehling (Billy) of Victoria and grandchildren, Lauren Dentler of Austin and Thomas Dentler of San Antonio.
Robert Meyer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. You could always count on him for loyalty, help, advice and bearing all struggles we might have experienced. He held a B.B.A. in Business Administration from Texas A&I and a Masters in Accounting from Texas Tech University. In his professional life he served as Chief Financial Officer for Lacks for 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, engaging in hunting, gardening and farm and ranch management. He loved his community and gave time to financial matters at church and civic organizations. He loved to travel, make new friends, keep the old friends and cheer his wife, kids and grandkids on to victory in their own endeavors. His hidden talent was repairing anything with duct tape.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, March 4, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 10 AM at First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Pearson officiating. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Dentler, Stephen Dentler, Billy Stehling, Ralph Schacherl, Gary Harlan and Nelson Stehling.
Memorial donations may be made to First English Lutheran Church Building Fund.
