Patrick William Newell, 56 passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 24, 1957 in Ganado, Tx to Marie Williams Newell of Victoria and the late Gerald Newell. He was a Lease Operator with Marathon Oil.
Pat may have been born in Texas, but he was a true coon-ass. He was always the life of the party. When Pat walked into the room everyone knew it! He always knew how to bring a smile to everyone's face. No matter the occasion, Pat always had a story (or 10) to tell, that would make you laugh so much it hurt! He also had some quite entertaining "dance moves" and by the end of the night, everyone was dancing with him.
Pat had a very adventurous soul, he was always up for anything. From bungee jumping and skydiving in Texas to ziplining across Vegas and even dreaming of one day going to Australia and boxing a kangaroo.
Pat was a huge sports fan, especially when it came to the Houston Texans and LSU Tigers. He even enjoyed rooting for his poor Lastros!
He loved the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, golfing, or chasing his grandbabies in the backyard, he always had the time of his life.
Pat loved spending time with his beloved mother, children, and grandchildren but above all he LOVED being with his best friend and love of his life, Paula. Nothing could ever top Pat and Paula time!
Survivors include his wife, Paula Riley Newell; son, Major Brandon Newell and wife, Sara of Cardiff, CA and their children, Sierra, Kai, and Ayla; daughter, Sandra Speck and husband, John of Victoria and their daughter, Maddie; daughter, Amy Alvarez and husband, Robert of Victoria and their daughters, Kylie and Johnnie; daughter-in-law, Lisa Schaar of Victoria; brothers, Mike Newell of Cleburne, Doug Newell of Victoria; father and mother-in-law, John and Roberta Riley of Victoria; and his four-legged best friend, Scooter Newell.
