Kenneth G. Dietzel, 79, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was born May 18, 1938 in Victoria to the late Albert G. and Paula A. Scheel Dietzel. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1958. Kenneth retired from Alcoa in 1998 with 26 years of service. He was a devoted husband of 56 years to his wife, Shirley Woods Dietzel, and a devoted father and grandfather. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking as he built various styles of boats, clocks, a canoe, wooden toys for his grandsons, Adirondack chairs and a very special fairy tree house. He also enjoyed traveling to Louisiana to gamble.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dietzel; daughters, Lisa Chappell (Colby) of Victoria and Lauree Dietzel of Austin; sister, Betty Louise Dearman (Alvin); and brother, Len Albert Dietzel (Diana), both of Victoria; grandsons, Taylor Jordan Bridges (Karly) of New Braunfels and Carson Tyler Bridges of Portland, Oregon; great-grandson, Ryder James Bridges.
Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5-7 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Scherer, Alvin Dearman, Jay Schlinger, Colby Chappell and Jim Steele.
