John Riley, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 26, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Edward and Callie Amis Riley. He was retired from the United States Air Force and Union Carbide.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta Goode Riley of Victoria; daughters, Stacie Riley and Paula Newell, both of Victoria, Angela Coin (Samuel Jr.) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Kellie Castillo (Richard) of Victoria; sons, William Edward Riley (partner, Nancy Burkhart) of Victoria and John R. Riley (partner, Oscar Garcia) of Riverside, California; sister, Ruth DeForest of Pensacola, Florida; twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Riley; his son-in-law, Pat Newell; and grandson, John Louis Schaar II.
Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Zachary Riley, Joshua Riley, Kasey Riley, John Notz, Dylan Notz and Jacob Jones.
