She received her Master’s degree from Texas A & I University in Kingsville. She was a teacher with VISD for over 20 years, and spent most of her career teaching at F W Gross Elementary School. She was an outstanding teacher who loved her students and was proud of their achievements. She was very special to her family, students, and co-workers, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Mac Edwards and wife Candace of Taylorsville, Utah; sisters, Vonnabeth Darr of Corpus Christi, and Mary Nell Schwarz of Victoria; sisters in law, Marlene Brown, Audrey Miller, and Ruth Mendenhall; grandchildren, Alyssa Tapia and Kiley Edwards; great grandchildren, Aizik and Zayden; nephew, Rico Schwarz of New York, NY; several other nieces and nephews; and her close friend Charli Donoghue of Victoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bolar Austin Brown Jr., and Richard True Brown.
At her request, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to F W Gross Elementary, Wounded Warriors Project, or Warriors Weekend.

Doris Ann Edwards, age 74, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. She was born September 20, 1939 in Kingsville, Texas to the late Bolar Austin and Georgeanna True Brown.
