Donald Allen Knowlan, age 98, of Victoria, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was born April 24, 1926 in Victoria, Texas to the late William Lee Knowlan and Florence Killion Knowlan. He married the love of his life, Patsy, on July 8, 1950, and to this union four children were born. They were married for seventy-one blissful years until her passing in 2021. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Knowlan and his half brother, William L. Knowlan Jr.
Don was a very giving person with his time and talents. He loved working with wood and built many treasure for his children and grandchildren, and was an avid bowler in his younger years. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1329, and he worked with the AARP Tax-Aide for 28 years. He also taught Instrumentation classes at Victoria College.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 9AM, immediately followed by rosary at 9:30AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM all at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Entombment will immediately follow at Resurrection Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Nolan Proff, Nic Proff, Patrick Proff, Ross Knowlan and great-grandsons; Logan Lyons and Caleb Lyons.
He is survived by his children, Mary Catherine (Ric) Proff, Patricia Ann Knowlan, Elizabeth Frances Knowlan and Donald Lee (Geraldine) Knowlan; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
