Charles Ray Gibbons Sr.

Charles Ray Gibbons, Sr., 83, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012. He was born February 19, 1929, in DeWitt County to the late John Homer and Wayme Mae Garrett Gibbons. He was retired from the air conditioning sales and service industry and spent many years at Union Carbide.

Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Gonzales and her husband, Duane, of Victoria, and Carol Laza and her husband, Dan, of Placedo; his son Chuck Gibbons, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of San Antonio; sister, Earlene Fritzinger of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Matthew Fancher , Gregory Gonzales and Amber Alvarez; and one great-grandchild, Abigail Alvarez.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Elaine Gibbons.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Rev. Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Burial will follow in Nursery Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Fancher, Gregory Gonzales, Jacob Alvarez, Jacob Laza, Jeremy Schmidt and Westley Kelly.
