Carol M. Cook, age 63, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010. She was born September 5, 1947 in Victoria, Texas to the late John Carroll and Mary Jane Murphy Ley. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
Carol worked in advertising, and was currently an Executive Assistant for the Port Lavaca Auto Group. She had formerly worked for Cox Cable, Kamin Furniture as director of advertising and the Port Lavaca Wave. She was also a member of the Port Lavaca Rotary Club.
Carol enjoyed the theatre, symphony, movies and cooking classes. She loved her family and her grandchildren were very special to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Edwards and husband Travis of Victoria, and son, Donald R. Cook and wife Mai of Cedar Park; sisters, Doris Orsak and husband Jim of Corpus Christi, and Patricia Waitschies of Houston; brothers, Bill Ley and wife Colleen of Aurora, Colorado, Dennis Ley and wife Jan of Victoria, and James Ley of Victoria; and two grandchildren, Blake and Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Michael Ley.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, November 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Keating, Bob Houston, Don Whitaker, Torin Bales, Brian Orsak, and her grandson, Blake Cook. Honorary pallbearer is Buddy Kamin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nazareth Academy, St. Joseph High School, or American Heart Association.
