A lifelong Texan, she was born in Woodsboro, Texas, on the 11th of April 1933 to Felix and Ollie Johnson Gregorcyk. Barbara spent her childhood in Woodsboro and graduated from Woodsboro High School.
She married Thomas W. Phillips, Sr. on June 24, 1950, and celebrated over seventy-one years of marriage before his passing.
Barbara worked for the late Dr. Charles Borchers for many years as a medical and personal secretary before her retirement. In later years, she moved to College Station to be near her daughters.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Wade Phillips, Jr. and wife (Jo Helen Clark) of San Antonio; daughters, Debra Ann Land and husband, David of College Station and Mary Kathleen Phillips of Houston; and one grandson, Thomas Wade Phillips, III.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tommy; her parents; and her brother, Felix Lawrence Gregorcyk, Jr.
A celebration of her life will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Northside Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Darrell Tomasek presiding. Interment will follow immediately after the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
