Our beloved husband, Dad, and Gung-Gung passed away very peacefully into the arms of God on Sunday, February 19th at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Marty; daughter, Gem; granddaughters, Tara and Kenda; his brother, Jordan; nephew, Ken; and nieces, Amanda and Bernice. He is predeceased by his parents and older brothers, Raymond and Dennis.
Victor was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and obtained a degree in architecture from the University of Cape Town. He married Pam in 1960 and in 1967, with Marty aged 5, and Gem aged 2, they immigrated to Canada where he continued a successful career in custom residential design in Toronto. He had accomplished his lifelong ambition in architecture and he got so much satisfaction out of helping his clients.
Victor was a kind and thoughtful man with a keen sense of humor, a generous heart, and a positive outlook on life. Family and friends were his joy and the most important part of his life. He loved to play tennis until his 70s, read books, and listen to jazz music. Victor was a strong, solid-as-a-rock character with the highest principles and integrity. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. Heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and care aides at the Royal Jubilee, Gorge, and Aberdeen Hospitals. Victor called them his “angels” who took such excellent care of him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3rd at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 753 Burnside Road West, Victoria, BC at 12:00 pm with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Victoria Hospitals Foundation.
