Ursula was born to Mary and Arthur Driver on May 5, 1921, in Saskatchewan.
Even as a child, she valued connections with other people and was a strong force for this in her community, across all ages.
Ursula met her husband, Malcolm Hannah, at their shared workplace in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
They married in 1948 and went on to have five children: Anne, Lois, Cindy, Jim and Trish. Five grandchildren followed: Aaron, Alexandra, Iggy, Haydn and Zoe.
She was a tireless volunteer with Girl Guides as a major focus. She started as a “Brown Owl” for Brownies and finished this active volunteer career as a Guiding Commissioner.
She loved needlework from early childhood throughout her life, and belonged to various sewing and knitting groups. Her love of doll making and of miniatures is legendary.
Ursula and Mac began their life together in Swift Current, where 4 of their 5 children were born. They moved to Victoria in 1963, where one daughter was born. They moved into their brand new home in 1964, where Ursula lived until December 2018. There she nurtured lavender plants, roses, and a large vegetable garden. Wherever she lived, she also nurtured people, giving shelter to many through the years.
Ursula is predeceased by her husband Mac, her daughter Cindy and her grandson Aaron.
We will miss her handmade gifts, her roses and lavender, her dinners, her fabulous cookies in the old cookie tin, and most of all her oversized heart.
As a new angel, she will have her loving wings spread out to welcome and protect all who need it.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2019 at 3pm, at 3973 Maria Road.
