Phil and Suzy were our next door neighbours in Chilliwack from 1975 to 1979. He had an aversion to a big mortgage, and so despite an incredible (3 hour - each way)  daily commute from Chilliwack to the Sinclair Centre in Vancouver he preferred to stay rooted. Due to his brutal commute we rarely saw him on week days. Phil came in to his own on weekends when he did not have to get up at 4am. He was a good neighbour and a good friend. RIP, Phil.

Phil was a classmate through Royal Roads and RMC, 1962 to 1966. I particularly remember him as good natured through the strain of first year at Roads. I got to know him better many years later, from 2004 on, and we kept in touch.

A classmate at Royal Roads and RMC and friend.    Although we met infrequently over the years, each was a warm, convivial event and produced good memories.  My sincere condolences to Suzie.

Phil loved the  ‘Beatles’  and 60’s rock music, travelling,  and living overseas with the military. He was an intelligent man with a kind heart  who loved his family and was a loyal friend.
