Predeceased by her husband, Douglas Morrison Rogers in 2006. Survived by her four children, Kerry (David), Craig (Louise), Jill (Ian), Shane (Margot), 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mom almost made it to a century. Her mind and spirit were willing, but her body finally gave out. She was a strong, determined, stoic, loving woman with a mischievous sense of humor, which she kept to the end. She loved having her family around her, the more the better. She could talk to anyone and leave them smiling. She loved gardening, curling, chocolate, music, good food (her joy in having a chef in the family…), and current events. She trained and worked as an RN, mostly in maternity, and had lifelong friends from those days. Early in her marriage, in the army years, she and Dad and kids spent two adventuresome, travel filled postings in Germany. The family moved to Victoria in 1963, where we all grew up with livestock, an orchard and many gardens. Mom and Dad moved a lot after the children grew up, and Mom stayed in their last house until she was 92. After several years at Berwick House, she moved to Qualicum Beach, where she was very well cared for at The Gardens at Qualicum. To her delight, they brought her breakfast in bed.
She is sadly missed, but we are comforted to remember that she had a long and enjoyable life.
