Marguerite Fraser passed away peacefully in Victoria on April 17, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born in Victoria in 1927, attended McKenzie Elementary and Mount View High School, and soon after worked for BC’s Vital Statistics. In the early 1950’s she was an active member of the RCAF Reserve Unit where she met her future husband, Hugh Fraser. They married in 1956. They enjoyed a wonderful life together and had two sons, James (Cathy) and Brian (Lynda), followed by four grandchildren – Alex and David, Alison and Kristi.
Marguerite and Hugh loved travelling and exploring the world - Great Britain and Europe, Australia and New Zealand, East Asia, many U.S. states, and camping throughout BC. Marguerite was a loving partner, mom, grandmother, and friend who lived to laugh and socialize with family and friends. This included hosting extended family gatherings, her weekly bridge games, and parties and travel with her wonderful circle of friends. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren with whom she shared a very special love. Her sense of humour was spectacular and she always had a witty response that made us smile.
Thank you to the staff of the Selkirk and Summit for the care and kindness they gave Marguerite.
Flowers are gratefully declined. In Marguerite’s memory, if desired, donations can be made to the “Victoria Foundation Hugh and Marguerite Fraser Support Fund” for local charities (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/81651).
