Marge was born July 23, 1935 to Michael and Catherine Harach; the second eldest of six children. Marge lived in Radisson, Saskatchewan until the time she entered nursing school at the Grey Nuns at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1956 and worked in various aspects of medical care in hospitals in Western Canada. Marge was dedicated and compassionate in her nursing career. Margie’s favorite role was caring for premature babies.
James (Jim) Reidy danced his way into Margie's heart when they met for the time at the Catholic Youth Club in Saskatoon. Jim had immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1957. Jim and Marge married in 1961, dancing their way through sixty-two anniversaries . Marge loved style, fun, hats, and flare. Surprisingly, Marge was also a speed skater, a dancing roller skater, and a hockey goalie. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years before transitioning to a flamboyant and passionate member of the "Red Hatters".
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband James; her children Maggie (Rob) Peters and son Greg (Lucy Chang) Reidy. She is also "Grandsy" to Zachary, Jordanna Peters and Jaden Chang-Reidy. She is survived by her sister Theresa (Jim) Land, brother Michael (Janet) Harach, and extended family in Ireland , including several brother and sister in laws.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Michael Harach; siblings Sylvia (Guy), Marlene (Clayton) and Ernie (Harach).
On Christmas Day, Father Christmas came to mom’s bedside and the staff did a song and a dance around her bed. She opened her eyes more than she had in weeks, and she had a smile on her face which was the best Christmas present of all.
Every year, the staff who took care of Marge had fundraised to provide personalized gifts for her and for each of the patients in their care. As an expression of our gratitude for the exceptional care that Marge received, we would love to support the Patient Christmas Fund at Sandringham All Care Centre.
