Beloved mother of Mark, Paul, Dean (Helen), Marnie, Martha (Scott) and Jeannie (Murray)
Loving grandmother of Natalie, Ryan, Harris, Sonny, Jack, Mike, Haeden and their spouses.
Jean is also survived by her many great-grandchildren and dearly loved Maloney family members.
Jean will be remembered for her support of the underdog, always promoting hope and optimism for social justice. Jean believed in people and that with proper support anyone could overcome adversity to make positive changes in their lives.
She was a voracious reader; she was interested in politics, and any disaster happening anywhere in the world. Dad referred to it as the ‘’ain’t it awful syndrome.’’ But she kept him informed. Jean loved the CBC Radio, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Dylan and the Rolling Stones. She was all over the map.
Jean enjoyed a successful career in real estate, played golf and tennis, and practised yoga. She was a potager in the kitchen. Soups were her thing. She was an excellent seamstress, and actually made a couch once. Springs and everything. She could have been an engineer. In the last 10 years she enjoyed her golf and shopping trips to California with Dad, Marnie and Tom.
Mum will always be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, and beauty, inside and out.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the staff at The Heights who brightened mums days with song and dance. As well as her dedicated physicians Dr. Mack, Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Budlowski.
Our deepest gratitude to First Memorial staff for taking mum into their loving and gentle care. A private family interment will take place in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria BC at a later date.
‘’My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.’’ – Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare
