Jason Ogden Coe

June 17, 1972 - March 7, 2024

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Coe of Vancouver, BC. He left us in the early morning of March 7, 2024 at the young age of 51 due to metastatic colon cancer. He is deeply missed by his grandmother Doreen Steger, parents Colleen and Derek Steger, brother Corey Steger, sister Jillian Steger and partner Kerry Macdonell, brother Matthew Steger, his wife Ria and their two sons Aaron and Raza and his birth father Bryan Coe. Jason is also greatly missed by many other family members and friends.

Jason was an avid film, music and TV buff, reader, foodie and traveler. He loved comedy in any form. Some of his favourites were MAD magazine, The Grinch, The Simpsons, Weird Al, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher. Trying wild and wacky foods was a favourite activity. He tackled the "checkmate" at The Score on Davie St., the "Beast" at Cannibal Cafe, the Turducken and oh so many more foods at the PNE. He loved a good Irish beverage, a Kilkenny of Guinness. he also loved to travel and venture to new places. Travelling to all 50 states in the USA was a life goal. Sadly this goal was not achieved, but his siblings will be visiting as many states as possible in his honour.

The Steger family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Victoria Hospice and Royal Jubilee Hospital Palliative Care for their incredible care and support of Jason. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to their family physician Dr. Glanzberg.

A funeral will be held @ 11am on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St, Victoria, BC.
