James Archie Bishop born June 12, 1960, passed away in hospital in Victoria after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Jessie, in 1981 and Archie in 2009. Jim is survived by his sister Arlene, brother Rob (Connie) and nephews Cole and Neil.
Jim has resided in Victoria, a city he loved, for the past 40 years, with his beloved cats.
Jim studied jazz piano at Vancouver Community College and earned a BA from the University of Victoria. He worked in Victoria as an addiction and mental health counsellor.
Jim will be remembered for his quick wit and as a skilled and knowledgeable conversationalist. His attending physician at the hospital described him as a pleasant and non complaining patient.
Heartfelt thanks to friends Cheryl and Richard for their enduring care of Jim. In his final days Deborah and Maureen were also vital to Jim's care through their daily visits. He was also well cared for by Dr. Scott and the medical staff at VGH.
