Our beautiful loving friend Jacqui, died peacefully on the afternoon of Good Friday, surrounded by her devoted friends. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to the Aubuchon family of hardware fame, Jacqui was predeceased by her six siblings and her greatly cherished cats, Bella and Emma. She is survived by her long time friend Eileen King, and nieces and nephew, Denise B., Paul, Denise and Louise. Jacqui entered the Sisters of St. Ann and served for many decades as a teacher including in northern BC and Alaska. She lived an extraordinary life full of love, laughter, vibrancy, and wisdom. She served her community, including founding the Diversion program, the first of its kind in Canada and actively participating in the protests to save the Clayoquot forests. Jacqui will be greatly missed by her many friends who were unwavering in their love and support until the end. Jacqui spent her last hour with her friend Eileen, then quietly left us.
Special thanks for the care Jacqui received at both the Royal Jubilee and Mt. St. Mary Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders (1 800 928-8685 or DonorRelations@msf.ca) or a charity of your choice.
We will recall many other aspects of her life when we gather for a Celebration of Life at a date to be announced.
