I'm very sad to hear of Dale's passing. We were childhood friends growing up in Cadboro Bay. My parents nicknamed him "the salesman" back then as he was always so full of energy and enthusiasm with many a story to entertain them. We certainly had a lot of fun growing back then. We didn't see much of each other after the early school days, but I did bump into him some 20 or 25 years ago. He hadn't changed a bit, still full of life and excitement. He was the foreman of a construction crew and very proud of it. He had a beautiful mid 50's spearmint Ford or Merc pickup truck at that time that reminded me of all the cool rides his Dad used to have.

Weekends and summer holidays were meant for cleaning bricks, doing salvage at demos, and cutting firewood. You made life fun. You were one of the hardest working people I ever met. Thank god the world had people like you in it. Bill Mattison and family.

We send our deepest sympathy in the loss of Dale.  I recall meeting him after a big wind storm. He came and cleaned up the branches that fell into our yard. He was so apologetic. He was far too young to leave this world. God Bless

We were very sorry to read of Dale's passing. I remember meeting him many years ago at one of our staff functions. We actually Indian Leg Wrestled in our living room!! He was so much fun and full of life. Far too young to leave this world.  We are very sorry for your loss. Please pass on our condolences to his family.

Cleaning and stacking bricks in downtown Victoria with you for your Dad (.01 per brick I think??) We made good money too!

Riding my mini-bike and riding your mini-bike.

The time you threw a dart at me running away and it stuck right in my butt!!  Ouch. Oh god you laughed!! I never did get you back.

Your laugh that I swear started in your toes and grew until it found your mouth and big smile.

The time we (you) crashed a Keg Christmas party in Victoria and we got free drink coupons, talked and laughed with all the employees, them thinking all the time we were employees too! That was a first for me Cous.

The last time I saw you at a family party with your beautiful (adult) kids, warm smile and gentle spirit.

You will be sadly missed dear cousin but those wonderful memories (and more) will live with me until we meet again . and we can finish our game of darts!  LOL

Mrs. Patterson, my sympathy and prayers go to you and your extended family. To lose your son, brother or father must be so difficult. 
I already miss running into Dale at the corner store or outside of a school. Where inevitably he would say "Oh, Oh, I have talked too much. I have kept you too long. I will let you go". I always felt good after 'running into' him. I always enjoyed our talks.

"Digger Dale".....How fond the memories of when we first moved to Colwood. Our house wasn't even finished. A knock came to the door it was Dale. He asked me are you Bev Turnbull, I was in grade 4 with you. We shared many coffees and laughs about growing up. Then our kids came along. Mine still call him Digger Dale. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all his family & children. He will be missed.
