Wrobel, Curtis John passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 51. Curtis was born on October 5, 1965 in Lloydminster, SK. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Melanie, mother Phyllis and father John, brother Kevin (Lynda), aunts Rosemarie and Joey (Rudy), cousins Clinton, Dalton, and Brennan (Cara), as well as a large extended family on Melanie’s side.
Curtis graduated from Stelly’s High School in 1983. He spent many years in the restaurant industry, after which he made the best of his skills as an independent contractor, fixing everything from houses to cars. He designed, built, and flew model airplanes with the Victoria Radio Control Modelers Society for several years. He then became active in several of the car clubs around Vancouver Island, and was always ready to volunteer his time and energy in the running of events.
Curtis had a love of life and was a true people-person. He loved to laugh and share a joke, to push his knowledge to the limit, and to help any friend in need. Some of his favourite moments were in his MR2, driving at break-neck speed around an autocross course, in a group of friends, sharing beers and spinning yarns, or in savasana in yoga class.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria. Donations may be made in Curtis’ name to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria, BC.
