Aurele passed away peacefully at Resthaven Lodge after a long battle with bladder cancer and other ailments. Married 64 years to Joyce Marie (nee Kitto) who passed away April 29th of 2014, he has surviving sons Richard, Michael and daughter Kathryn (Steven) Curry and his grandchildren Michelle and David. Aurele came from a large family with brothers Roland, Leon, Louis (deceased) and sisters Aline, Lise, Rita, Jeannette, Yvonne, and Jeanne (deceased). Aurele has over 60 nieces and nephews, sister and brother in-laws from the Robert and Kitto families.
Aurele was born in Saint Ce’saire Quebec and moved to BC when he was 18 years old with his best friend Mel Willie while his brothers and sisters remain living in Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Quebec.
Retired since July 1, 1989 from BC Forest Products as a Carrier Operator, Aurele was a quiet, stoic man who enjoyed curling, fishing, walking, and was an avid vegetable gardener. He also enjoyed baking his yummy Christmas fruit cakes and canning food. A long- time resident of Esquimalt; living in a large home on the corner of Lyall and Joffre Street since 1961. Aurele was a regular at the Esquimalt Curling Club playing for the BCForest Products bonspiel and many other competitions. He also used to fish out of the Flemming beach and Pedder Bay.
He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of Aurele’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday August 19, 2016 at First Memorial Funeral Services 4725 Falaise Drive with reception to follow.
