Pearl Sophia Davies

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pearl Sophia Davies, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Born on July 9, 1930, in Parkbeg, Saskatchewan, Pearl passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 23, 2024.

Pearl was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter, with whom she shared a remarkable life filled with love and adventure. She leaves behind her three children: Pamela (Jim) of Fort Langley, Paul (Cathy) of Vernon, and Patrick (Barbara) of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pearl was an amazing wife and mother, a caring grandmother and great-grandmother, and a true friend to many. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Pam Davidson, Brenda Hora, and countless others who Pearl considered part of her extended family.

Growing up in Parkbeg, Saskatchewan, Pearl attended school in Mortlach, where she shared the one-room classroom and memories with the likes of Jack Poole of the 2010 Olympic Committee and his brother. In 1953 she married Walter Davies, embarking on a life journey that would take them from Moose Jaw to Assiniboia, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Terrace and finally, Vernon, BC. Walter’s career with Canadian Propane brought them to these various communities and together, they embraced every new chapter with grace and joy. Pearl and Walter called Vernon home for over 45 wonderful years, where they built a life rich in love, laughter and family.

Pearl will always be remembered for her radiant outlook on life and her happy demeanor, which lit up every conversation. She had a sweet tooth, a fondness for her favorite TV shows, and a warmth that left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Pearl’s absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will remain a bright and comforting light. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A celebration of Pearl’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, dear Pearl. Your love and light live on in all of us.
