She also lived in Calgary, Prince George, Vancouver, Hamilton, Chilliwack, and Cranbrook.
Pam was a lifelong learner. Initially she went to Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and became a Registered Nurse, graduating in 1975. She worked in Mental Health at the Prince George BC hospital for inpatients and adult psychiatry. Pamela furthered her education at McMaster University, Penn State University, Boston University and Okanagan College. Besides a master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing, she studied Recovery & Rehabilitation, Culture of Illness & Health, Religious Studies and Anthropology. To her friends and former clients, she is best known as an Advocate for Mental Health for the Interior Health region of British Columbia.
Pam was an avid reader of James Patterson books and had a huge library of his books. She was a Star Trek fan, a social activist and a lover of the NDP. Pam was intelligent, generous, kind, empathetic and funny. She loved animals, flowers and the beaches of Hawaii.
Pam suffered from physical and mental illnesses over many years so now she is at peace. Her death was preceded by her parents Hazel and Al Roberts as well as her husband Mark Seymour. Left to grieve Pam’s death are her cats Bella and Gnu Gnu as well as close friends Rita Williams, Kathy Chouinard, and fellow apartment resident Mark Martin. She left an imprint on many others.
Cremation will be done according to her wishes. A celebration of her life will likely happen at a future date. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or an animal shelter.
