Louise worked as a nurse for many years, and had strong passion for animals, especially her Siamese cats.
Louise was born and raised in the Okanagan and had many friends. She was a social person and sadly was unable to communicate easily in the past couple years, but maintained fond memories and reminisced of her longtime friends ...she often shared of Lynda Duncan (now of Alberta), Ruth Bedell (of Langley BC), Helena Kapos (Vancouver BC), Judy James (Burnaby BC). . . a host of others that are not mentioned by name here, but were very important to her.
Louise left us to join her family who left before her including her cherished sister, “Dot” (Dorothy Szalanski), her brother, Harold Burns, and her beloved mother and father, Bob and Murial Burns. Louise leaves behind to mourn her passing her daughter, Alison Whelan (Peter and Children), and her son Bradley Whelan (Marcia and Children) as well as many other family members and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beth Lipset, a social worker who helped Louise during her time in the care home for many years. A special thank you also goes to Trinity Jekill (grand-daughter) who gave her support to Alison, Louise’s daughter during a difficult time of loss.
