Karen Ann McKinley

It is with profound sadness and overwhelming love that we announce the passing of Karen Mckinley on May 3, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. To the end, she radiated love and warmth to her beautiful children, her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Bill, her children Liam and Georgia, her mother Ann, and her brothers Tom, Dan, Brian, and Terry. She was predeceased by her loving father, Tom.

Karen was born and raised in Burnaby before moving to Vernon with her family 9 years ago. She traded her job as a nutritionist to devote her time to raising her children. She was an amazing mom and her children were the joys and love of her life.

Karen was simply loved by all who knew her. She had an effervescent spirit and an unwavering joy of life. An all around beautiful person, with a quick smile and easy laugh with a personality that embraced the lighter and sillier side of life. She loved to make people laugh.

She will be sadly missed by all of the people whose lives she touched. ‎Her children, husband, family and friends will carry her enduring love and spirit always. We are all so lucky to have had her in our lives.

A celebration of her life will take place at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on May 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

Donations to the North Okanagan Hospice Society or the BC Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
