One of my favourite memories of John  was him sitting in his room, on the edge of his bed playing his guitar.  Sharing many dinners between John, Simon, mom and I, telling us jokes and making us laugh. His humour will never be forgotten. John was a friend of mine and will be missed by many, Rest In Peace my friend.

John was my uncle...and although we were never extremely close the times I do remember are those of laughter and happiness.  He would always have a joke in any situation and truly just had a big heart and always made time for everyone.  I know my mom loved her brother dearly and they often had many of calls many of which made my mom extremely happy.  I saddened by the loss of John but I know that you are in a better place now looking down on all of us and resting easy!

John was my stepdad, and he was the only father I knew in my life. When he married my mom, he accepted me as well, and raised me alongside my brother and sister for many years. After I moved back to the US and became older, we weren't in each other's lives as much, but I will always appreciate that he opened his heart to me when he did and that he tried to provide me with the Dad that every little kids needs in their life. He also gave me my brother and my sister. For all of these things, I am grateful to you John, and I love you. Rest in peace. 

John kehoe to me was a  peace keeper a travel companion a hell of a talented musician a joker and a friend and mostly a father to me who was always there to listen. 

He was able to crack a new joke on the spot and make everyone around giggle in laughter with a bright smile more times than not. Deep down I know he had tried his best for everyone and keeping his promises and seemed to strive to make peace and make sure friends and family were happy and safe.

I hope heaven is the way you have imagined it and now you and the rest of our family are looking down upon us with laughter and cheers. See you again in future dad and sorry for all the wrong and thank you deeply for all the good.

My Dad was a lot of fun, loved his blues music, and loved to laugh and be silly. His favorite thing that I remember, was playing his harmonica,I even had one to match. I enjoyed his stir fry, ice skating, and fishing trips. Even though we lived in separate countries, I always had those memories to keep him close. I love you Dad and will always remember our loving and fun times. 

John was my husband of 15 years and gave me 2 beautiful children. We enjoyed several cross country trips from California all the way to Canada.  We tried to make it all the way to Nova Scotia to have our son, Simon, we only made it to New Brunswick.   Those trips were the happiest and fun times! I loved his sense of humor. I’m thankful for those years and will always have memories in my heart. So long for now, John 

John was a good friend for many years. We spent many evenings with fellow musicians, playing and sharing stories, when I lived in Saint John, NB .
Beth and I enjoyed his visit with us in Port Colborne, Ontario, in the fall of 2019, just before my 90th birthday and his 70th birthday, which were the same day.

John was my only Brother.  He had a very full life.  He enjoyed all his different career choices, especially when he was a long distance truck driver.  He loved telling stories about his drives.  John had two children, his son, Simon and daughter Leah.   John was very close to our parents but especially our Mom.  I know that he prayed every day for them.   He has many relatives who will miss John.
John loved his Irish heritage and being born in Sydney, NS only made his connection to Cape Breton ever strong.  He was able to visit his relatives there in 2019.  I'm so grateful he had an opportunity to enjoy Louisbourg one last time.
Scott and I had a great visit with John in 2019 as well. He enjoyed watching the ships going through the Welland canal from our back yard.   After his trip to Cape Breton, he spent more than a month with his dear Friend, Big John Little and his spouse, Beth Morris.  Thank you to you both for making his visit with you so important to him.
Deidre Jones has been a friend to our family for over 40 years.  Thank you Deidre for helping John through the years and for making all his final arrangements.


I knew John going on 20 years as my brother in law. We spent many hours sharing some great stories about ours lives, and I always enjoyed listening to him play guitar and harmonica. 
So glad he was able to spend a couple of weeks with us at our home in 2019. 
He was one of the good guys, miss you John.
