Gordon Carr

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Alvina in 2009; parents James and Violet Carr, stepmother Hilda Carr, sister Helen and brothers Don and Reg.

Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his son Wes of Vernon, daughter Cathy (Ron) Richards of St. Albert, grandchildren Melissa (Andrew) Greene of Regina, Daniel (Stephanie) Richards of Edmonton, and great-grandson Liam Greene of Regina.

Gordon was born in Brandon, Manitoba in 1931. His family moved to Regina when he was a young man. Gordon married Alvina in 1952 and they raised their family in Regina where they spent many enjoyable summers at their cottage on Last Mountain Lake.

In 1978, Gordon and Alvina moved to Vernon, B.C. and retired shortly thereafter. They enjoyed their many retirement years travelling, camping and spending time with their grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 22, 2016 at 10:00AM in the Chapel at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon. A reception will follow in the Tea Room.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make a donation in memory of Gordon to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia, or to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

Our family would like to express our appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heron Grove - Cottage #4 for the wonderful care they gave to our father.
