Dianna was born on February 23, 1948 in Princeton, BC to Peter and Nettie Matlock. She spent her early years in the mining town of Copper Mountain, BC before the family moved to Vernon, BC in the 1950’s.
Dianna married Don Fletcher on June 27, 1970 and they resided in Vernon. Dianna worked at the Vernon Safeway prior to welcoming their daughter, Colleen. Dianna went back to work in the 90’s at Whims and Wishes in downtown Vernon where she worked until the store closed. She greatly enjoyed volunteering at school activities and was very involved with the Zirka Ukrainian Dancers of Vernon for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering weekly at the Schubert Center prior to the pandemic. She enjoyed arts and crafts, in particular needlework and knitting.
Dianna will be lovingly missed by her husband Don and her daughter Colleen, as well as many family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Paul Matlock.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff and volunteers at the North Okanagan Hospice Society for their kindness and the extraordinary care they provided to Dianna.
