It is with great sadness to announce that Bertha Helen Daloise, born June 17, 1926 has passed away on July 23, 2019. Bertha was born and raised in Saskatchewan with her siblings and parents. Bertha is survived by her loving husband Charles Brown, her daughter-by-love Laura Wilson, brother-in-law Al Tait, and her nephews Robert and Bill Sylvester, all of Alberta.
Bertha retired from Bell Canada and decided to travel the world on cruise ships with the love of her life, Charlie. Bertha spent hours talking of her high sea adventures and discoveries with a sparkle in her eyes.
When Bertha wasn't on the ships, she spent her winters in Palm Springs; Claude and Tom, her close friends who still live there, always found time to keep Bertha in the loop of her American connection.
Bertha served a short time in the Canadian Navy in 1945, a duty she was extremely proud of. She was also a member of the Vernon Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Bertha loved her animals, dogs in particular, graciously donating funds to the Vernon SPCA.
Charlie and Laura want to thank the Nurses and Care Aids at Hearthstone Manor who took great care of Bertha when we no longer could.
Bertha, "Lady Bird," our hearts are heavy with grief; we'll miss you. However, you are now with your sisters, brothers, and the parents you loved so dearly.
Love you Bertha, today and always. . . Rest in Peace.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on July 30, 2019 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation may do so with Vernon SPCA. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pleasantvalleyfh.com for the Daloise family.
