Mrs. Saenz was born June 15, 1924, in Canatlan, Durango, Mexico. She lived most of her life in San Bernardino, several years in Ventura, and for the past five years had lived in San Antonio to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
Socorro had also had the opportunity to live in Germany and travel throughout Europe with her eldest daughter, Arcelia, who was in the United States Army.
She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, sketching, painting, and needle work.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jose Saenz, Sr.; daughter Arcelia Saenz of San Antonio, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Pat Saenz, Jr. of Ventura; son, Raymond Saenz of San Bernardino; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Saenz and David Soto of San Bernardino; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
Socorro was preceded in death by her sister, Lydia, son Johnny and great-grandson, Johnny Saenz.
Visitation will take place Monday, November 26, 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning 7:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 27, 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura.
Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
