Ruth Arlene Gallagher passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at age 90, following a difficult battle with cancer. She was born to Edna Odessa (Young) and John Henry Scarr, in Baltic, Ohio on August 12, 1925.
In 1946, she married United States Naval Lt. Maurice Joseph Gallagher. Ruth lived a long and active life as wife, mother of three and wage earner.
After retirement from commerce, Ruth earned a BA degree in Sociology from CSUN. She also volunteered at the Ventura County Museum, the Rubicon Theatre and the Foster Library in Ventura.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr. and Marcia; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Kuhn; three grandchildren, Spencer, Claire and Jordan.
Memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura.
