Robert (Bob) Marshall, 82, of Ventura, Ca. went to join his sweetheart, Phyl, in heaven on Saturday, April 19, 2014, while surrounded by his family. Together they had five children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Felomena (Phyl) and his parents Marion and Charles Marshall of Rochester, NY.
Bob is survived by brother, Richard Marshall and his wife Sally; sister, Jeanne Sherbourne and her husband Ron; his daughters, Patty Connelly, Linda Daniels, Mary Smith and her husband Mark; sons, Robert Marshall and his wife Denise, and Jeff Marshall. We are all proud of Bob’s accomplishments. After leaving the Air Force he had a successful career until retirement as an aerospace engineer. He dedicated 25 years to Little League baseball as a groundskeeper, umpire, and coach; He was also an assistant coach for several years at Ventura High School. He served local food shelters by collecting food from businesses, also serving the elderly by taking them to church and medical appointments. He was a veteran of the Korean War and accomplished a lifelong dream by getting his private pilot license at the age of 70.
Bob was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church and was a third degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. With the influence of his beloved wife, he developed a generous and giving heart that in turn influenced all who knew him. His greatest accomplishment was becoming a loving and supportive dad, showering his love and approval on all of us through his words and actions.
Funeral Mass for Bob will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Sacred Heart Church, 10800 Henderson Rd. Ventura, CA, 93004 at 10:00 A.M.
