Nancy Virginia Lacalle Elliott Fish, 83, of Ventura, passed away Friday morning, August 9, 2013, at her home following a brief illness. She was born July 29, 1930 in Vina Del Mar, Chile to Luis and Rejane (Elliott) Lacalle.
Nancy earned a degree in art and fashion design from the University in Santiago, Chile. She married Robert Coleman Fish, Sr. on April 14, 1956 in Chile and they soon moved to the United States where together they had four children. They settled in Ventura in 1959 where Nancy has lived in the same home for fifty-four years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy’s compassionate and caring ways will always be remembered by the many lives she touched especially to the children she provided day care for in her home for over fifteen years.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and of late, watching Turner Classic Movies. But most of all Nancy loved to travel with her husband Robert “Bob” and treasured spending time with family and friends. She loved her grandchildren dearly reveling in the joy of each new baby. She also kept in close contact with her family and friends in Chile acting as the focal point to maintain the family bond. Nancy was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura for over fifty years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Robert Coleman Fish, Sr. on November 27, 1997.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas and Jeri Fish of Ventura, CA, Robert “Bob” Jr. and Alice Fish of Folsom, CA, Rachel Fish and her fiancé, Rachel Bennett of Oxnard, CA, and Luis and Naydeen Fish of Ventura, CA; grandchildren, Nathan Fish (wife Deborah) of Ventura, CA, Nathan Hale (wife Sarah) of Post Falls, ID, Gary Hale (wife Lindsay) of Puyallup, WA, Kevin Fish of San Diego, CA, Caelie Fish of San Diego, CA, Keara Fish of Folsom, CA, Ashley Calhoun of Los Angeles, CA, Karson Fish of Ventura, CA and Gannon Fish of Ventura, CA; great grandchildren, Hayden and Ian of Ventura, CA, Avery and Isla of Post Falls, ID and Jad of Puyallup, WA.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, with a prayer vigil beginning at 7:00 P.M, with the Deacon Ed Mills.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, August 14th, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 3175 Telegraph Road, with The Reverend Alex Amayun officiating.
A committal service will take place on Friday, August 16th, 11:00 A.M. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
