Margaret was born November 12, 1932, in San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George M. Myers; parents, Lt Cmdr. Charles R. White, USN, and Irene White; her brother, Charles Ralph White; and sister, Nancy Moen.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Myers and his wife Sharon of Ventura; son, George E. Myers of Ventura; and son, Mark Myers of Prescott Valley, Arizona; grandchildren, Christopher Myers (and his wife Janelle) of Visalia, California, Kaitlyn Myers and Kevin Myers of Prescott Valley; sister, Mary Henderson of Oxnard; two nieces, Debbie Cloud of Ojai and Diana Henderson of Oxnard; two nephews, David Henderson of Oxnard and Danny Henderson of Oceanside, California.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family which was her highest priority. She was known as second mom and Grandma to many others notably Steve Knipping of Tustin, California and also Rick Giroux of Camarillo who recently wrote:
“There is a secret organization between the mothers of the world. When you enroll, you sign a pledge to be a mom to all. Margaret was one of those people. She took care of and loved everyone's kids.”
Margaret enjoyed her life and supported her husband in many of his hobbies. Most notably the Poinsettia Amateur Radio Club. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, attending and watching baseball games and telling stories of her life as the daughter of a naval officer. Margaret traveled extensively as a child when her father was deployed to new locations. She lived in or passed through all but a few states including living in Hawaii prior to it being a state. Margaret was involved with her sons’ sporting events and was always present at their little league, VYBA and high school basketball games.
Her kind and gentle spirit will be missed and her children and grandchildren will always be grateful to her for being everything that a mother and grandmother is supposed to be.
A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2016, 1:00 pm, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
