Lynda Robinson Berk was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 15, 1941. She attended Cleveland Heights High School, where she distinguished herself as a caring and kind student of integrity and promise. Lynda went on to earn a Teacher’s Degree at Ohio University, afterwards attending classes at Ohio State and at Case Western Reserve. She was always very caring, supportive, sensitive, and kind to those around her.
Lynda taught elementary school for thirty years, and helped many students create a positive orientation to education. In this way, she enriched the lives of a large number of young people to develop a caring sensitivity toward others. Lynda most recently held a position at Rose Avenue School in Oxnard, California, where she was greatly appreciated as a resource teacher, helping many students there. She also positively affected many students’ lives as a tutor, kindly helping those in educational need, and touching their hearts to become the best that they can be. Similarly with her family, Lynda was dearly loved by all those around her, and as this was a sudden illness, her passing on February 26, 2016, has been taken as a sudden and great loss.
Lynda also was a religious school teacher, and every morning she would read portions of the Bible. She spread a gentle, supportive, and kind influence wherever she went, and was very special, leaving an immeasurable loss to many loving people.
Lynda was a devoted wife and mother, and is survived by her husband, Errol Berk of Ventura; and five children, Susan Robboy of San Francisco, Meade Robboy of Pasadena, Elizabeth Clausen of Wasilla, Alaska, Benjamin Berk of Houston Texas, and Jonathan Berk of Billings, Montana; as well as her Seven grandchildren. She always will be remembered for her eternal sweetness, and her wings of kindness have brought her to heaven.
A funeral service for Lynda will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, 3:00 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura, California. A committal service will follow later in the week at East Lawn Palms Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Condolences may be sent to TedMayrFuneralHome.com.
