James Donald Tull, 84, of Oxnard," Don" as he was known to his family and friends passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August , 24, 2013. Don was born September 11, 1928 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was married 41 years to his wife, Shirley, before her passing in 1992.
Don moved to Oxnard from Barstow, CA and was a Ventura County resident for over 55 years. He retired from the government after working for the civil service as an electrical engineer for 35 years. He worked at both Port Hueneme and Point Mugu Naval Bases.
Don loved going to his vacation home in Bullhead City, Arizona and fishing the Colorado River. He spent many vacations in Bullhead.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Ann and Steve Langford of Fontana, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Scott and Helen Tull of Ojai, CA; daughter -in –law, Jane Niehaus of Ventura, CA; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 11:00 A.M. , at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
