Helen Hall, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was taken into God’s loving hands on Sunday, October 16, 2016 after a brief hospitalization. Helen was born in Grindstone, PA on December 22, 1921. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. from Czechslovakia to have a better life for their family. Helen was one of 8 children. She met the love of her life, Thomas Hall, at Redstone High School. They were married for 63 love-filled years. She had a long career working at the Oxnard Post Office as an accounting clerk. She was an avid sports fan, both professional and those of her family. She loved watching the grandkids play baseball, soccer, and football and avid Dodger fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Hall, her son Thomas H. Hall, II, and grandson, Gary Newcomb. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Smith and Debbie Newcomb, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and her sister Jacqueline Zaharewicz.
Helen will always be remembered as “Saint Helen”, a nickname given to her by her son-in-law, because she was a kind, loving, faith-filled woman who accepted everyone into her family.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 21st from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Charles Carroll Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 12:45 at Sacred Heart Church, immediately followed by the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. Internment will be at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
