Brian was born September 5, 1956, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in a very tight-knit family in Encino, one of four brothers and a sister. He attended Birmingham High School in Van Nuys and graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Accounting. He joined his father’s public accounting practice in Tarzana and became a CPA. In 1996, he established his own firm in Agoura where he provided expertise in trust and estate planning.
Brian was passionate about his work, and practiced his profession with a personal touch and integrity. Brian’s other passion was fencing. He joined the West Side Fencing Club in Culver City in 1983, and more recently fenced with the Conejo Fencing Club in Thousand Oaks and the Points West Fencing Center in Ventura.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Rochelle; his mother, Mary Silverman of Agoura; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ira Silverman and Sheri Dickstein of Ventura, Paul and Ellen Silverman of Ventura, Lee and Amy Silverman of Santa Barbara; and his favorite sister and brother-in-law Sharlene Silverman and David Lyon of Sherman Oaks. He was the favorite uncle to 21 nieces and nephews. The most important aspect of Brian’s family life was raising his daughter, Rochelle, now a sophomore at Virginia Tech.
Brian was a kind and gentle man and leaves a legacy of compassion, caring and wonderful relationships. He will be missed by all.
A service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Temple Beth Torah in Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
