Carl Herring, age 86, of Venice Florida, formerly McCandless PA, died peacefully in his home on Saturday December 2, 2023. Loving husband of Virginia Herring; son of Mary Elizabeth and Jack Herring; father of Dr. Jaclyn (Steve) White and Jay (Caroline) Herring with their mother Rosemary Herring; also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Carl enjoyed teaching English and coaching boys’ tennis at West Allegheny High School, while also working part-time for Lenzner Tours. During retirement, Carl loved golfing with his wife and friends, and his time at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in their Operations Department where he worked with and became well-acquainted with PSO Conductors Mariss Jansons and Marvin Hamlisch.
