As a young man, Norman worked for the railroad. He eventually switched careers, becoming a Longshoreman, which he did until his retirement from the longshoreman union in 1998.
Norman was dedicated to his church. He enjoyed going on trips with a church group, visiting Israel and Argentina. On his two visits to Argentina he and his group worked to build a new church for the community they were visiting. In addition to church and travel, Norman enjoyed old cars and going to car shows, going to Blazers’ games and he was a big Seahawks fan.
Norman is survived by his children, Pattie Filbeck, Nicki Landry, Kelli Lutje, David Wright; step-children, Kris Ketchum and Theresa Watson; sister, Evelyn Brown; 16 grandchildren;2 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; son, Doug Wright; and step-daughter Coral.
A funeral service for Norman will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Vancouver Church, 3300 NE 78th St., Vancouver, Washington 98665. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery.
