As a baby, Brian and his family moved from Wilbur to Vancouver. He attended Hudson’s Bay High School, graduating in 1985. While in school Brian played Football and Basketball. Eventually Brian became a proud long haul trucker, working for himself as an owner/operator.
September 15, 1993 Brian’s life changed forever. This is the day he met his future wife, Joylyn. They were set up on a blind date by close mutual friends. That first date was at the old Timber Lanes Bowling Alley in Vancouver. A short time later, April 26, 1997, they were married at the Marshall House on Officer’s Row.
Brian loved going fast! In his younger years he enjoyed racing cars at Portland Speedway. He loved watching Nascar and football, working on cars and hanging out with friends. His house was where people wanted to be and he was always the life of the party.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Joylyn; children, Tori Northrop and Nick Northrop; grandchildren, Anthony and KJ; parents, Jean & Darrell Northrop; parents-in-law, Pat & Cleone Mullen; sisters-in-law, Susie Shoemaker and Kathy Mutchler; brother-in-law, Jay Dusich; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Northrop; grandparents, Fred & Beth Cook and Orla & Clara Northrop.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be 1:00PM, December 9th at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver, Washington 98660.
Arrangements under the direction of Vancouver Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, WA.
