Rita Whittle(Nardi) passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022, at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Charles (Chuck), her three children, Anthony (Marlene), Clare and Steven, and her grandchildren, Micah, Leah and Audrey. She is also survived by her brothers Frank, Alfredo, and Joe, her four sisters Rosina, Maria, Yolanda and Teresa, her aunt Yolanda Nardi, aunt Rita DeSanto, uncle Giovanni Nardi, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and true friends.
Rita was a wonderful, caring, and loving wife to Chuck and a nurturing, supportive mother and grandmother. She and Chuck enjoyed long walks together and talking over a good cup of coffee. She loved and lived for her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment she could spend with them. Special times spent together sharing stories of her big Nardi family, going for long walks, watching them play, listening to them singing and, of course, baking with them brought her much joy and happiness. Rita loved baking and cooking and mastered her recipes, always making them tastier and healthier. Her kitchen was filled with the fragrance of freshly baked goodies and amazing meals, which she shared with family and friends around her table. Her home was always warm and welcoming.
For Rita, God, faith, and family came first in her life, and she was grounded in her love of Jesus and His mother, Mary. She prayed daily, especially for anyone in need and was always there to help out, never expecting anything in return.
Rita will be in our hearts forever and missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Her star may have burned out here on Earth, but Jesus has lit another bright and shining star in the Heavens above, with her name. He has welcomed her with His gentle, loving and caring arms into her everlasting home where there is peace, love and joy forever.
Life
By Charlotte Bronte
Life, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall?
Rapidly, merrily,
Life’s sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily
Enjoy them as they fly!
What though Death at times steps in,
And calls our Best away?
What though sorrow seems to win,
O’er hope, a heavy sway?
Yet Hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair!
