Marilyn Joan Catherine Bennett

Marilyn Joan Bennett of New Westminster BC, formerly North Vancouver, passed away on the evening of June 06, 2023 in her 88th year.

Born in Winnipeg Manitoba to Andres & Beata Thordarson. Joan was a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Laura Martin, Grandchildren Krista Kardas, Darla Flett, Brandon Castle, Cody Flett and Great Grandson Carter Castle.

She also leaves behind her Sister Grace Fiege and Niece Tracey Chatt and close longtime friends Karen & Bob Scott & GUY Paquette. Many thanks to all those that were with her during her last few days in the Royal Columbian Hospital after taking a fall ang suffering a broken hip.

She was predeceased by both her parents and beautiful daughter Cheryl Bennett who was taken far too young. All of whom Joan lavished with greeting cards full of thoughtful underlined sentiments.

1935 - 2023

In her younger years, Joan loved to dance, roller skate and bicycle with friends from North Vancouver where she worked at Schlage Lock, and where she raised her daughters. Some will remember the very creative outfits she would sew for them as they grew, to stretch her budget. She will be fondly remembered by many friends and acquaintances from her home and community in New Westminster. Who's lives she touched with her friendly and cheerful demeanor.

As per her request there will be no service held. Her immediate family will place her ashes alongside her

parents at Ocean View Cemetery.
