Steve Bryant, 81, of Alma, Arkansas, died, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in a local hospital. He was born March 21, 1929 in Lavaca, Arkansas. He was the retired Vice President and General Manager of Bryant Preserving Company, a member of First United Methodist Church in Alma, National Food Processors Association, Ozark Food Processors Association, and the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Argus and Annie V. Bryant; two brothers, Phillip Bryant and Garland Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bryant of the home; one daughter, Kathy Summers of Scottsdale, AZ; two sons, Steve Bryant, Jr and his wife, Sharon of Batesville, AR and Eddie Bryant and his wife, Judith of El Paso, TX; one brother, Frank Bryant of Norman, OK; as well as 6 granddaughters, Monica Bryant, Mallory Burton and her husband, Justin, Jordan Kupetz and her husband Jonathan, Jillian Dewey and her husband, Michael, Annette Summers, Amanda Lester and her husband Justin, and 2 great grandsons, Brycen Lester and Joseph Burton. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. Pallbearers will be Ricky Shelby, Mark Shelby, Jerry Summers, Lionel Bryant, Phillip Ray Bryant, Morgan Bryant, Ed Thicksten, and Justin Lester. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lee Lewers, Thomas Peevy, Jimmy Don Gooch, and Paul Anderson. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
