Martha Irene Robinson

Martha Irene Robinson, 83, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was born July 17, 1939 in Fort Smith. Martha was the owner/operator of a number of commercial properties; had worked in politics; and was her father’s legal secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Ralph W. “Cotton” and Virginia (Meek) Robinson; and a brother, Robbie Robinson.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa K. Robinson of Van Buren; a son, Ross Robinson of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Sue Bowen; two nieces, Stephanie Cowin and Amanda McCracken; a great-niece, Cassidy Cowin; by those who called her “Momma Sue”, J.J., Cameron, Shay, and Lily; two fur babies, Thor and Izzy; and special friends, Tommy Chaffin and Mitzi Nelson.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Joey Cowin, Troy Fonville, Jack Danciu, Floyd McKee, Trent Fonville, and Dub Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Robinson, Dr. Charles Jennings, Sherry Hanson, Georgia and Jerry Burgess, Tim Blankenship, Lisa and Terry Cockrum, Doyle A. Hopkins, Ralph and Sue Figley, President Bill Clinton, Joseph Holcomb, Sr., Randy Childers, Maurie Moore, Mike Burgess, and Roger Lankford.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
